styles we are, in fact, her exclusive distributors!
Maria da Costa's background and formation almost spell the
word
"design". A trained, certified and experienced interior designer and
a graduate of Belgium's
famed HRD diamond grading training, with an active involvement in the
local art
scene as an accomplished creator in several fields of the visual arts,
she
quickly opted to express herself in the domain of jewelry.

Amongst the
very first, world-wide, to adopt advanced metals such as Titanium and
Zirconium
as her metal of choice she started creating jewelry designs that take
advantage
of those metals unique metallurgical properties.
"My
initial interest in creating jewelry in Titanium and
Zirconium stemmed
from my fascination with 'tension-settings'. At the time, in the 1990s,
only
designers such as Steven Kretchmer were creating tension settings in North America, alas, only in
precious metals" she
explained to us. "I found that by working in metals such as
Titanium
and Zirconium I can have the freedom I needed for my ideas and designs".
Indeed, designer Maria da
Costa proceeded to
create some of the most daring and stunning tension designs ("all
legally
protected" she hurries to emphasize) in the newly adopted media.
Absolute Design is proud to not only be licensed to
manufacture Ms. da Costa's
unique and, at times, breath-taking and innovative designs, but do so,
also, in
our proprietary black Titanium and in black Zirconium metal as well.
